Police, fire ambulance respond to Beaver Lake boating incident

Emergency crews called to Beaver Lake

Lac La Biche County peace officers, RCMP ambulance, Fish and Wildlife and Lac La Biche County Fire Rescue were called early Sunday evening to the boat launch near the Young's Beach Campsite on Beaver Lake. The procession of emergency vehicles into the subdivision drew attention from residents.

Initial reports indicate that a man suffered a medical incident while using a canoe near the boat launch. Boaters in the area provided life-saving measures as emergency crews responded.

The condition of the man was not known prior to the first publication of this article, but an ambulance with lights flashing and sirens blaring — accompanied by a police vehicle escort — was seen leaving from the scene heading to Lac La Biche's W. J. Cadzow Hospital.

If there are updates available, they will be added to the article
