Woman arrested for trafficking adjourns sentencing

Selling to an undercover officer means Sheena Maria Cardinal will have a trafficking charge on her record.

During her appearance in the Bonnyville courthouse on Tuesday, June 18, Cardinal pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine and adjourned her sentencing for the completion of a Gladue Report.

On June 11, 2018, an undercover RCMP officer was working at the Players' Lounge in town when they started talking to a male about "hooking them up" with cocaine.

The male left and went to a nearby hotel before returning with a female, later identified as Cardinal.

Cardinal sold .47-grams of cocaine to the officer for $90, and was arrested for trafficking.

She will appear for sentencing on Aug. 8.
