Car crashes into utility pole along Hylo highway

Emergency vehicles line a stretch of Highway 663 on Friday night following a single vehicle rollover west of Hylo that saw a car crash into a utility pole. Traffic in the area was reduced to one lane, and power to homes was affected.

RCMP, fire, ambulance and peace officers were called to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 663 just west of the Hylo hamlet on Friday night.

The crash, which took place at approximately 9 p.m., saw a car roll into the northbound ditch and strike a power pole. The car ended up on its roof, under the pole and just feet from a roadside dugout.

It wasn't confirmed how many occupants were in the vehicle, but ambulance crews took at least two to hospital. 

Police had restricted traffic along the stretch of highway to a single lane as emergency crews were on scene. The road was opened to two-lane traffic by 10 p.m.
