Former Lac La Biche resident charged with impaired driving

Jennifer Lee Benson plead guilty to charges in Lac La Biche Provincial court on September 27 for charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

On November 9, 2010, RCMP officers responded to a late night complaint about a motor vehicle that was swerving. Upon arrival on the scene, arresting officers declared that Benson showed classic signs of intoxication and she was then arrested and charged with impaired driving.

Defence lawyer, Kim Hardstaff, submitted to the court that her client admitted to such charges.

Judge Peter Johnston found Benson guilty and banned her from driving for 12 months and reminded the current resident of Calgary that she cannot drive anything with a motor in it anywhere the public has access to. Chief Crown Prosecutor, Jeff Rudiak, agreed with the judge’s findings.
