LAC LA BICHE - Love was in the air-and on the ice-at the Lac La Biche Curling Club during in the days leading up to Valentine's Day. On Feb. 9 during the club's regular Fun Night, there was a special couples theme.

On the ice - perhaps because of the Valentine's Day theme, or maybe just the acoustics - players were heard to be shouting, "Heart! Heart!" and "Sweet! Sweet!" during their shots.

While it may have been couples’ night, singles were also welcome at the event. A decent-sized group of people both coupled and by themselves or with groups of friends got together at the rink for a few hours of recreational curling, socializing, and to listen to music provided by Greg Chaisson.

For those who perhaps weren’t as skilled or experienced in the winter sport, members of the club were on hand to provide a little bit of love with some on-ice tutorials.

The regular Friday fun nights are hosted by the Lac La Biche Curling Club as a way of getting more people interested in the sport. Upcoming events will be held on March 1 and 22.
