The 2011 Alberta budget has been released, and Lac La Biche students will have to wait a little longer for a new school, as funding has still not been approved for construction of a school at the Bold Center.
"There is no funding, as it stands right now, for new projects," said Alberta education spokesperson Kathy Telfer, adding that future decisions may include new schools for Lac La Biche.
Lac La Biche-St. Paul MLA and Minister of Infrastructure Ray Danyluk is happy with the budget, noting there is is $17.3 billion earmarked for hospitals and schools in the capital budget. "I think it's a good budget," he said.
