Animals need love just like humans. Those who attended the open were given the opportunity to mingle with animals, including visiting with dogs in their kennels. Jackson, a dog currently living at the shelter, was happy to see Tina Skakun when she stopped by his kennel to spend some time with him. Chris McGarry photo.

The gang at the Lac La Biche Humane Society got an early start to Valentine's Day, by hosting an "Adopt the Love of Your Life" event on February 10.

The idea of the afternoon open house was to to promote the adoption and fostering of animals currently living at the shelter on Nipewon Road.

During the event, which ran from 1-4 p.m., people stopped in to socialize with dogs and cats and walk dogs, eat snacks, and learn more about the programs and services offered by the organization, including volunteering opportunities.
