The men's home team opened play on Friday facing the visiting Kings University Eagles. That match ended in a 4-4 tie. The Voyageurs women’s team played later on Friday, losing 7-0 to the women's squad from Kings University.

The ACAC North Regionals also drew teams from Fort McMurray's Keyano College, Lakeland College, NAIT, and Grande Prairie's Northwestern Polytechnic. A similar regional event took place a weekend earlier for southern Alberta ACAC teams including Olds, Prairie College, Ambrose University, SAIT, Lethbridge College, and Medicine Hat College. That event was hosted at Prairie College in Three Hills.
