Something's missing

On Tuesday, the Tree Monkeys crew clears up the last pieces of the 50-foot spruce that served as the 2021 downtown Christmas tree.
The big spruce as it stood over Christmas.

Lac La Biche's Tree Monkeys tree and stump removers were busy on Monday, clipping and chopping the 50-foot spruce tree that was the Lac La Biche downtown Christmas tree.

The big tree donated by Lloyd Fleming and his family, then cut and moved from his property near Pleasant Acres in late November. Wrapped with more than 1,800 Christmas lights, the big tree was the seasonal backdrop to the downtown Lac La Biche Christmas parade, late-night shopping and the announcement of the Junior Citizen of the Year.

Large trees that are donated by area landowners have been set up for the last several years as the downtown Christmas focal point.

Several companies from around the region donate their time, efforts and dollars to the tree project.
