Clippers looking for hometown Boo-st over Halloween weekend

Clippers try to even the score on home ice on Saturday and Sunday after first of three Halloween weekend games can't scare up a win.

Make no (skeleton) bones about it — Friday's entrance into a weekend of Halloween games for the Lac La Biche Clippers Junior B squad was scary.

Little offence, generating just  22 shots on the Vermilion Tigers' net and no goals until the third period, little defence, allowing 52 shots on their own net, 44 minutes of combined team penalty time ... in just the third period — including two,10-minute misconducts, and one gross misconduct given to Clipper Pacen Cardinal for antics after the final whistle ... and a final scoreboard loss of 6-2 to a team just two points ahead of them in the standings.

The remaining two games on the Halloween triple-play weekend are hoped to bring more treats and less tricks for the team.

Saturday night's home game starts at the Bold Center at 7:30 p.m. The game is a rematch of the Oct, 23 narrow loss to the Lloydminster Bandits. Sunday's Halloween game is a matinee against the Cold Lake Ice, on Bold Center ice. That game starts at 4 p.m.
