ST. PAUL - Glen Avon School in St. Paul hosted a junior high basketball tournament on Jan. 19 and 20, drawing in eight girls' teams and eight boys' teams from across the region.

On the boys' side, FG Miller from Elk Point and Holy Rosary from Lloydminster met up in in the final game, which required overtime. FG Miller won the game 43-41. The third place game was between the Glen Avon Panthers and fellow St. Paul-based team the Racette Jr. High School Raiders. Racette would win the game and take bronze.

On the girls' side, the hosts would claim the top spot after a strong showing against the Racette Jr. High School girls' team. Glen Avon won 62-14.

The third place game was between Holy Rosary from Lloydminster and Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School from Bonnyville. Holy Rosary won the game.
