Dalton Desjarlais leads Mites category rider Hazel Marczak-Desjarlais around the course.
Killernie Sheffield finished number one in the Keyhole competition, one of several timed events over the two day gymkhana event at the Rich Lake riding arena.
Rider Cassie Winterburn takes to the pole-bending course as other competitors watch on.
Raydene Washburn and her horse get a helping hand from ag society president Iris Dort during last Sunday's gymkhana events in Rich Lake.
Emma Gauthier had the top overall score in the peewee category over the weekend.
The timing judges announced the riders and their times to the crowd in the arena.
The indoor events drew a small crowd of supporters for last weekend's gymkhana. A cowboy and horse challenge is coming up later this month at the Rich Lake riding arena.

RICH LAKE - The folks at the Rich Lake Recreation & Agricultural Society are reining in on another horse-themed event at their indoor arena.

Galloping ahead on the heels of the second horse gymkhana event to be held at the riding arena in the new community centre, a ranch horse and cowboy skills event is slated for Sept. 18.

The skills event will feature an obstacle course for horse and rider and event categories for all ages, including children 12 and under.

The first-time Rich Lake Ranch Horse and Cowboy Challenge follows two successful gymkhana events, where riders of all ages took part in timed events riding around poles and stakes.

Rich Lake Agricultural Society President Iris Dort says the recent horse and rider events are a great way to get families together and to get youngsters familiar with horsemanship. The most recent gymkhana event at the indoor riding arena drew more than two dozen competitors and attracted a decent audience in the stands.

"We do it so families can ride together, keeping us all strong," said Dort, explaining that the youngest of the horse families are the most fun to watch. "(There's) nothing like the smiles in the little guys' faces. I love it."
