ST. PAUL - It was an unusually warm and calm day on May 9 during this year's RCMP Road Race, as students from across the region gathered with local RCMP personnel to take on the annual team run.

With each team member tackling one mile of the 12-mile route between St. Brides and St. Paul, runners pushed themselves to complete the task.

Following the event, Steven Duquette, operational watch clerk with the St. Paul RCMP detachment, thanked everyone who took part in the long-standing event. This year was the 41st RCMP Road Race.

The event would not be possible without the contributions from a long list of individuals and organizations, said Duquette. Supporters include St. Paul & Area Victim Services, CNRL, St. Paul Co-op, St. Paul Sobeys, St. Paul Rural Crime Watch, Town of St. Paul, Doug Fedoruk with St. Paul Education Regional Division No.1, Doug Zarowny with CNRL, Alberta Sheriff’s Branch – St. Paul Highway Patrol, St. Paul Protective Services (Fire & Municipal Enforcement), Alberta Transportation, St. Paul RCMP members and support staff.

"The biggest of thanks goes to all our bus drivers, coaches, volunteers, and student participants," said Duquette.
