BONNYVILLE – The Bonnyville Pontiacs have wrapped up the regular season and are now heading into Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) playoffs.

On March 1, the Pontiacs narrowly lost 2-1 to the top seed of the league – the Whitecourt Wolverines. On March 2, the Pontiacs won against the Drayton Valley Thunder, securing the fourth place standing at the end of the regular season.

The top five seeds of the regular season automatically advance to the playoffs.

The Pontiacs will be able to rest for awhile as the bottom six teams take part in a play-in series from March 7 to 13. The winning teams will secure the sixth to eighth spots and advance to the playoffs also.

The first round of the Inter Pipeline Cup will begin in mid-March. The champion will ultimately represent the province at the 2024 Centennial Cup National Junior A Championship in Ontario from May 9 to 19.
