Bonnyville RCMP celebrate 150 years at Little Leap Park

A community celebration was held at Little Leap Park on Friday afternoon to mark 150 years since the formation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

A community party was held at Little Leap Park on Friday afternoon to mark 150 years since the formation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

BONNYVILLE - A 150th anniversary celebration was held for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) at Little Leap Park in Bonnyville on Friday afternoon.

The community event was put on by Bonnyville Victim Services and included games and prizes, a bicycle rodeo, a doughnut eating contest and a free community barbecue cooked up by Bonnyville firefighters.

Special appearances were made by the RCMP Safety Bear, RCMP horse Chester, victim services dog Romeo and retired service dog Odie.

Several Bonnyville RCMP members were also on hand to play games and answer questions at an RCMP recruitment booth.
