The Lord Stratchona’s Mounted Troop performed synchronized routines for a crowd at Saturday’s event. Hot temperatures may have kept some of the bleachers empty, but those who attended were treated to a very unique event.
Former Pow Wow Days president Sophie Hamar took in Saturday’s fish fry at the Fleming Cats yard. Proceeds from the meal go to the Lac La Biche Rotary Clubs Interact student group at J. A. Williams High School.

It was hot and dusty, but spectators enjoyed the show.
The intricate and historic regalia of the Lord Strathcona’s was an eye-popper.

Target practice at a gallop was part of the fast and intricate performances of the troop. Some of the group’s newest members have only been on horseback for six months.
Following the 45 minute show under the hot sun, the riders and their mounts cooled off on the Lac La Biche lakeshore.

Lloyd Fleming thanks the young riders who also thank him for the opportunity to perform. Due to COVID, the troop has only had one other show this year — at the Calgary Stampede.
Hundreds of pancakes were served ... and enjoyed at Friday morning’s Summer Days opener.
There was some ‘march’ available from the Royal Strathcona troop at the fish fry.

As the midway lights turn on for the final night of Lac La Biche Summer Days fun, we have some more images from the weekend so far, including Friday's pancake breakfast, the Saturday fish fry and the Lord Strathcona's Mounted Horse troop visit.  We've got a few more parade pics and some of the sunny midway action too.

We'll have more photos from the Sunday wrap-up day, including fireworks, baseball and the seniors' boat tours as well. Check these web pages and our Lac La Biche POST facebook page for images, video and story links.

Happy Summer Days!
