Circus brings thrills and excitement to Lac La Biche

The Hugo, Oklahoma-based group Circus Genoa put on two performances at the Bold Center on Sunday, April 28.

It isn’t every day that the circus comes to town. When it does, it’s a great opportunity to see thrilling performances and have fun. This is what happened for a few local families who attended the Circus Genoa events that took place on Sunday, April 28, at the Bold Center.

In addition to the customary clowns and juggling acts, this circus included a trumpet-playing mouse along with one performer who balanced a sword in his mouth while climbing ladder, along with another who used many colourful hula hoops for her fast and eye-catching performance in the ring that had been set up on the floor of Swamp Cats Arena.

During intermission, kids could play on the bouncy castles set up inside the arena. There was also a concession area that sold traditional circus staples such as cotton candy, snow cones, and peanuts. There were two shows on Sunday afternoon – one at 1:30 p.m. and another at 4:30 p.m.

The Hugo, Oklahoma-based Circus Genoa is on a tour of Western Canada, with the travelling circus scheduled to do eight other shows in Alberta and one in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, until May 12.
