St. Paul school buses heading home early

*Update: St. Paul Education has also cancelled rural buses for the morning of Jan. 14 to allow crews time to clear roads. 

ST. PAUL - St. Paul Education buses are being sent home early due to a winter storm that has moved through the region.

"Due to the current road conditions and forecast, all Division rural buses (including Town of St. Paul) will be transporting students home starting at 1 p.m. today," according to message from St. Paul Education, sent our around lunchtime on Wednesday.

Schools will remain open until the end of the day.

Snowfall has started to accumulate and blowing snow is expected to continue.

When asked about road conditions on Wednesday morning, Town of St. Paul Director of Protective Services/Fire Chief Trevor Kotowich admitted he hadn't been out on the roads yet, but had been told roads were in poor condition.

"Travel with caution," he said.
