Investigators believe same suspect involved in two shootings, one fatal, in Calgary

CALGARY — Police in Calgary say a suspect in a fatal shooting is also wanted in another shooting that took place a day earlier.

Officers were called to the Falconridge neighbourhood in the city's northeast for reports of gunfire early Saturday, and a man with what appeared to be gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the suspect is also responsible for an early-morning shooting in the adjacent Castleridge neighbourhood on Friday that left a victim, who police believe was confronted at his home, in critical condition.

Police are warning the suspect, who is in his late 20s or early 30s, is considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as light-skinned, approximately five-foot-10 and slim, wearing a blue hoodie, blue bandana, black baseball cap and black backpack.

Police say he was last known to be on foot in the 0 to 100 block of Falconridge Place North East.
