At least 10 train cars veered off the tracks in Sturgeon County near Poundmaker Road this morning, bringing a freight train to a halt.

St. Albert RCMP say there were no reported injuries, and an officer on the scene told the Gazette that there were no spills. The officer also said the fire crews from St. Albert and Sturgeon County were on scene, as was CN Rail police.

The train was heading northwest into the county, and as of 9:00 a.m. was not moving. RCMP say there are no road closures as a result of the incident, although Mounties aren't yet sharing what caused the cars to go off the tracks.
