Bonnyville police respond to collisions

Dispatched to the scene was the RCMP's Emergency Response Team (ERT) from Edmonton, the Police Dog Services, as well as the RCMP Air Services.

BONNYVILLE – Between March 12 to 14, Bonnyville RCMP responded to two preventable motor collisions within the Town and MD of Bonnyville.

At 8:20 p.m. on March 12, the RCMP members were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 46 Street and 50 Avenue.

Following an investigation, police determined one driver ran a red light and T-boned another vehicle.

The driver of the offending vehicle, a 35-year-old woman from Bonnyville, was issued a $405 ticket for failing to stop at a red light.

Just two days later on March 14, officers were dispatched to another two-vehicle collision in front of Iron River School on Highway 55.

“As one vehicle was stopped in the driving lane waiting to turn left into the school it was rear-ended by another vehicle,” according to RCMP. The collision occurred around 8:30 a.m.

A 38-year-old man from Saskatoon was issued a $243 ticket for driving at an unreasonable rate of speed, as well as a warning for following too close.
