Follow-up court dates for suspects in shooting death

A police presence was seen last week at one of two Lac La Biche residential locations where RCMP and tactical officers arrested two men in connection to a recent death.

LAC LA BICHE - Two men from the Lac La Biche area will be back in court later this month, as the court proceedings into the death of 41-year-old Conrad Oliver Boostrom continue.

Police say Boostrom's body was found near a Beaver Lake Cree Nation home on the night of November 20. Police were called to the location after receiving reports of gunshots.

Tyrone Jake Deschambeau, 28, and Wayne Ryan Blood, 37, are both charged with second degree murder in connection to the death. The two men made their first appearances in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on Monday, November 29. They will be back in the same courtroom on Monday, December 13 for their plea election to the charges.

Deschambeau and Blood were taken into custody in two separate arrests at two different residences in the Lac La Biche hamlet on November 23 and 24. In both arrests, police used tactical officers and police dogs to surround the residences. Both men were arrested without serious incident.

Both men are being held in custody until their next court date.
