The Marwayne Huskies are the Lakeland Minor Ball League  U18 Tier 1 champions, and the Lac La Biche Dodgers are the TIer 2 champs after a week of league-final baseball action across the Lakeland.

The 10-team U18 division is split into two tiers. Teams from Kikino, St. Paul, Elk Point, Marwayne  and Bonnyville are in Tier 1 and teams from the Elizabeth Settlement, Lac La Biche, Goodfish Lake, Cold Lake and another Bonnyville team are in Tier 2.

In the Tier 1 championship game, the Huskies beat the Elk Point Sox 11-8 for the gold medal last Tuesday on the Marwayne diamonds. The Huskies finished the regular season with a record of eight wins in nine league games. They swept the two games in the championship round, first beating Kikino 12-2 on June 22 before meeting Elk Point in the finals. The Sox got to the finals by beating St. Paul 10-6 on June 22.

In the bronze medal match-up in the Tier 1 division, played on June 27, Kikino beat St. Paul 6-3

The Dodgers won their Tier 2 championship on June 27, beating one of the two Bonnyville teams in the league by a score of 10-6 at Church Field in Bonnyville. The Dodgers got to the championship game by beating Cold Lake 16-6 the week before.
