Peewee 3 Canadiens host tournament

The Lac La Biche peewee team with their third place trophy says thanks to St. Paul for hosting them.

ST. PAUL - The St. Paul Peewee 3 Canadiens hosted their home tournament Jan. 25 and 26, bringing in teams from Bonnyville, Lac La Biche, Cold Lake, and the Edmonton region.

The weekend featured some exciting games. In the final game of the round-robin series between Lac La Biche and Bonnyville, the Lac La Biche team tied the game 8-8 with just 0.1 seconds left in the game. Several placings on the final standings table had to be calculated by aggregate goals. 

While the St. Paul Canadiens came up short in each of their three games, it was a good weekend for minor hockey.

Bonnyville won the tourament with a record of three wins and a tie. Second went to Stony Plain who finished 3-1. Third place went to Lac La Biche with a record of two wins, one loss and a tie.
