Okotoks firefighters were called in for a water rescue under fowl conditions Friday.

After a tip from the public led members of Okotoks Fire and Rescue to a Drake Landing-area storm pond, they found a Canada goose had become frozen to the surface of the pond.

After verifying the migratory bird was in fact stuck, the firefighters have freed the goose, but it looks to be injured.

Okotoks Municipal Enforcement are taking the goose to a local veterinarian.
