Check your cabinet: Over 35,000 bottles of cleanser, facial scrub recalled due to plastic microbeads

Cleansers under recall were sold across Canada

Health Canada is recalling multiple types of the "Yes To" brand of facial cleansers and scrubs due to a "chemical hazard."

The brand's tomatoes charcoal detoxifying daily cleanser, grapefruit daily facial scrub, and tomatoes detoxifying charcoal deep cleansing scrubs have all been recalled because they contain plastic microbeads which are considered toxic under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA).

The company has reported selling 35,964 units of the affected products in Canada between July 2018 and December 2022 but as of August 2, 2023, there haven't been any reports of injuries.

Nevertheless, Health Canada says that if you are in possession of a recalled product you should immediately stop using it and return it to the place you purchased it for a refund and so they can properly dispose of the item.
