A 15-year-old St. Albert youth has been charged with vandalizing two skate park washrooms earlier this fall.

According to an RCMP press statement on Nov. 28, the St. Albert RCMP have charged a youth for mischief over $5,000 regarding a complaint of extensive damage to the washrooms at the skate park on Sturgeon Road

Between 4:00-10:00 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2022, the youth allegedly ripped the soap dispenser from the wall and damaged the toilet paper dispenser in the men’s washroom.

The damage in the women’s washroom was more extensive.

“The ceramic sink was ripped from the wall, rolls of toilet paper jammed down the toilet bowl, and the soap dispenser was ripped from the wall,” the police statement read.

Police said the total damage to the washrooms was approximately $8,000.
