One person dead following crash in Cochrane

RCMP haven't named driver killed in single-vehicle collision.

COCHRANE, Alta. — A single vehicle collision that occurred in Cochrane in the early morning hours of July 25 claimed the life of one person.

Southern Alberta RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Gina Slaney said that the lone occupant of the vehicle was a male driver.

The collision occurred at around 1 a.m. in the 400 block of 3 Street West and Highway 1A.

"There was no one else involved and the Cochrane [RCMP] detachment wants everyone to know that there's nothing in this investigation that points to the construction in the area being a contributing factor to the collision," said Cpl. Slaney.

No further details are expected at this time.
