ASSOCIATE SUPERINTENDENT - HR

 

The Associate Superintendent HR will guide and manage the overall delivery of the human resource services for Saddle Lake Education Authority and is responsible for the development of processes, supporting culture change, guiding development and implementing, both strategic and operational programs that support the achievement of the SLEA goals.  The Associate Superintendent HR will work with the Superintendent of Schools to strategically plan human resource initiatives that will benefit and encourage more efficient and beneficial work from employees.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Must possess a minimum of M.Ed. or equivalent in administrative training
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years administrative experience
  • It is desirable that the candidate have knowledge of the Cree language and culture

*Job Responsibilities: 

  • Advises and works collaboratively with Superintendent and the SLEA Board on the need for data and input from the staff and committees.
  • Promotes smooth working relationship amongst staff and school Administrators, Program Managers respecting diverse views and perspectives.
  • Orientation to staff to pension and group benefits plans.
  • Implement, evaluate and administer employment policies and programs (e.g. performance management and employee recognition programs).
  • Coordinates Human Resources Programs under SLEA and provides necessary education and material to Directors, School Administrators and employees.  This includes workshops, manuals, employee handbooks and HR relevant material.
  • Monitoring and maintaining a current order for personnel files of all staff under the Saddle Lake Education Authority, including request for professional development and employee leave.
  • Will act as liaison between the Education Office and the accounting department in regards to all payroll records for employees for Saddle Lake Education Authority.
  • Ensure that the SLCN Policy and Procedure Manual is updated and communicated to staff.
