I like the short, stocky guy in 90 Day Fiance — but in the 20 minutes I watched him for the first time ever, I began to feel sorry for him... so I turned the channel — and realized I didn't know (not a clue) the "un-masked" county star behind the Astronaut costume on The Masked Singer after investing 15 minutes of time watching a series flashback. Click. The lava lamp aquarium was an interesting build on some Discovery Channel show about building aquariums, until I flipped the channel to Forged in Fire to see a person in a pastime I'd never thought about, make a weapon I'll never build, to see if "it will kill."
I'm catching snippets of shows I never watched before. Snippets. Click. Click. Snippets. Click. Snippets. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney and others where we can simply binge away our boredom.
Channel surfing, series binging — at least it's a distraction to either COVID boredom or COVID overload. We all have our COVID information overflow limits. For some, they can watch CNN and read LakelandToday.ca all day, never boring of the vast virus details. For others, they wake up, make sure they don't have a sore throat ... and that's about all they need.
So whether you're learning new dating techniques from the latest Bachelor in Paradise, catching up on MASH re-runs or racing through your favourites list on Netflix (anything with Channing Tatum) ... it's nice to get a good start to the day.
