Conklin RCMP alert ends after break and enter search

RCMP say charges will follow search for Conklin suspects

CONKLIN - An all-clear was given to Conklin residents and area workers in the northern community on Saturday night after an an afternoon search by RCMP for two alleged robbery suspects.

On Saturday afternoon, Wood Buffalo RCMP and other police officers were in the area of Range Road 82A and Highway 881 near the Conklin community, searching for two potentially armed suspects wanted in connection to a reported break and enter. Describing the situation as an "ongoing threat," police were asking residents and area workers to report any suspicious activity. 

The advisory was in place for approximately six hours.

On Saturday night, RCMP advised that all suspects relating to the investigation had been located. A police presence in the Conklin area in relation to the incident will continue.

"There is no ongoing threat to the community. Officers remain in the area as the investigation continues," said RCMP spokesperson Troy Savinkoff, adding that more information about the incident will be released once charges have been laid.

Conklin is 140 kilometres north of the Lac La Biche hamlet.
