Fundraising hockey match nets $10,000 for St. Paul fire department

The Clancy Richard Arena was filled with supporters on Thursday night, helping raise about $10,000 for the St. Paul Fire Department's training centre.

ST. PAUL - The Clancy Richard Arena was filled with spectators and supporters on Jan. 12 for a hockey match between the St. Paul Fire Department and the CFCW Critters.

While the firefighters may have lost the game on the scoreboard 14-9, it was no doubt a win for the organization with about $10,000 being raised for the volunteer organization.

Nearly 700 people attended the Thursday night game that featured fun antics such as extra-long hockey sticks, tiny nets, five on zero penalties, and much more.

The funds raised will be used for improvements at the St. Paul Fire Department’s fire training facility.
