COLD LAKE - A man being sought by Saskatchewan RCMP has been found and arrested on Cold Lake First Nation.

On Sept. 24, Cold Lake RCMP located and arrested Bryan Janvier, 36, at a residence on Cold Lake First Nation.

A month earlier on Aug. 24, at about 6 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a vehicle submerged in the Beaver River, off of Highway #903 in Saskatchewan.

"When police officers arrived at the scene, an adult male was standing on top of the submerged vehicle. He was transported to hospital with injuries," according to RCMP.

With the help of heavy equipment operators, a truck was removed from the Beaver River and an adult female, a 20-year-old from the Dillon area, was located deceased inside. Officers also found and seized a loaded handgun from the truck.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Collision Reconstruction and Meadow Lake General Investigation Section continued to investigate the incident with the assistance of Meadow Lake RCMP and charged Janvier with a number of Criminal Code offenses, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, operation while impaired and more.

A warrant was issued for Janvier’s arrest, who was known to have connections to the Cold Lake, Alta., area.
