BONNYVILLE - The Bonnyville Curling Club wrapped up a busy weekend on the rink, hosting a men's and ladies' bonspiel on Feb. 11 and 12, and drawing in curlers from across the region.
The weekend bonspiel brought 15 men's teams and 11 ladies' teams out to the curling rink.
"We had curlers travel from St. Paul, Mallaig, Cold Lake, Elk Point, Bonnyville, and Edmonton," said Marcelle Vallée, adding some curlers also came in from Lloydminster. "It was a busy full weekend of curling, with three draws on Friday night, seven draws on Saturday and two draws on Sunday."
The École des Beaux-Lacs ladies' high school team also attended the bonspiel, along with the ladies bonspiel's youngest team being made up of a group of cousins from Bonnyville and St. Paul.
"We would love to thank our sponsors for the continued support of our community club, and our ice maker Randy King for putting in countless hours throughout the weekend," said Vallée.
