ST. PAUL - It was a strong performance by the St. Paul Canadiens on Jan. 6, as the Jr. B team took on the Vegreville Rangers at the Clancy Richard Arena, winning 8-0.
The game was the first time the Canadiens hit the ice for a game since Dec. 20.
The Rangers are sitting in seventh place in the North Eastern Alberta Jr. B Hockey League (NEAJBHL), with just one win this season, and two overtime loses. The Canadiens, however, are working to stay in first place in the league, with 17 wins - the same as the second-placed Wainwright Bisons, who had played fewer games so far this season than the Canadiens, as of Saturday night.
The Canadiens will hit the ice at home again on Jan. 14. The game against Onion Lake is part of an afternoon and evening filled with hockey at the Clancy Richard Arena as the Canadiens Alumni Foundation hosts an Indigenous NHL alumni game at 4 p.m.
