The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs board of directors have signed coaches Chad Mercier and Ryan Pollock to long-term contract extensions to recognize the direction they have taken the team over the past five years and to ensure the organization continues to work towards winning a championship.

The pair is now under contract through to the 2015-16 season. Mercier remains the team's head coach and general manager, while Pollock has been promoted from assistant coach to associate coach and assistant general manager.

"The level of professionalism and respect brought forth by Chad Mercier and Ryan Pollock warrants an equal response by our organization and that being our commitment to them," said Pontiacs president Don Sydora in a press release.

"It is both an honour and a privilege to have them represent the Bonnyville Pontiacs today and in the future."

Pollock is heading into his fifth year with the organization, while Mercier is entering his sixth.

"We have made a lot of progress over the past five years, both on and off the ice," Mercier told the Nouvelle.

"But I believe there is a lot of growth yet to happen and that excites me. We have some real good people in this organization and I am proud to be a part of it."
