Curling sweeps in for the season

Open House: curling slides into another season

LAC LA BICHE - League play started last week on the Lac La Biche Bold Center curling ice, with all rinks of the 12-team men's league having their first games on Monday night. The 10-team Open League made its first slide into the 2020 season on Thursday night. Senior and junior leagues are also on the season's schedule of events.

Again this year, local curling officials are encouraging any skill levels to come to the rinks and try the sport. The success of the Friday drop-in nights drew interest and awareness last year, and a one day open curling funspiel on Saturday, Nov 7 is hoped to draw a few more new faces and first-timers to the house.

The season kick-off funspiel is open to any skill level with any combination of on-ice talent, say organizers. The event includes prizes and a dinner and social.

Details on the club and the upcoming events as well as private rental availability can be found in links of the digital version of this article at www.lakelandtoday.ca
