The Cold Lake Jr. B Ice has not lost a playoff game yet and is now up 2-0 on Lloydminster in the finals.

The Ice took games one and two at home last weekend, beating the Bandits 4-1 Friday and 3-2 Saturday.

Niko Bourget was the star of Friday's game, picking up the natural hat trick and giving his team a 3-0 lead it would not relinquish. As Bourget celebrated his third goal, several of the 500-plus fans who packed into the J.J. Parr Arena littered the ice with their hats and toques and possibly a glove or two.

With the two wins, the Ice is now on a nine-game playoff winning streak. If the team can pick up another two wins in the series the Ice will be crowned league champions.

But the second-ranked Bandits will definitely have something to say about that, as games three and four go on their home ice in Lloydminster.

Game three goes Wednesday and game four Friday, with puck drop for both games at 7:30 p.m.

If the Bandits are able to pick up a win at home to extend the series, game five will be back in Cold Lake Saturday.
