It started out as a back and forth game, but Friday night's Bold Center match-up between regional rival midget teams the Lac La Biche Clippers and the Kikino Red Army turned sharply in favour of the KI squad in the third period, ending with the doubling up on the Clippers.
The Red Army team, sporting retro-shirts from not only the former team Russia squad, but also the 1980s Kikino men's team ramped up their play in the final 20 minutes, even managing to score on a shell-shocked Clipper netminder while two-men short on a 5-on-3 Lac La Biche powerplay.
