A shotgun start Saturday morning at 9 a.m. began the 2010 Ladies' Open in Bonnyville. The event took place at the Bonnyville Golf Course and saw over 80 entrants tee off in both the individual event and team scramble event.

In the individual event, the overall net leader was Irene Plourde. The overall gross leader was Joanne Schiller, who shot 45 on the front nine, 40 on the back, for an overall round of 85.

Three teams were tied for the lead in the scramble event. Each team shot an impressive two under par. The winning teams were made up as follows: Wendy Shulman, Sharon Jackson, Brenda Brower and Gaye Harris; Shawna Kinjerski, Becky Millar, Patti Krekowski and Lorraine Quinney; Emilie Johnson, Roz Fitzpatrick, Lili Moyah and Jenny Bourassa.

The scramble format had 18 teams of four playing an 18-hole round, using best ball rules, while 21 golfers entered the individual stroke play event. Both the individual leader and the team with the best score received gift certificates and prizes, which were donated by businesses and organizations from in and around the Bonnyville area.

There were also several other door prizes and draws given away, as well as four hole-in-one prizes worth $10, 000 each up for grabs. Unfortunately no one was able to drop a hole-in-one and claim a cash prize.
