The St. Paul Golf Club hosted its annual Men’s Open over the weekend, as 38 hit the links for the two-day tournament that saw Sunny Prusak take the overall low gross.
Prusak finished on top of the pack with an overall score of 140 through two rounds to take the title of 2014 Men’s Open champion.
In the Championship Flight (zero to eight handicap), Jerrid Pasitney took the first low gross with a score of 151, followed by Robbie Moosewah at 158, while Jeremie Pasitney shot the first low net at 159 (143).
The First Flight (nine to 12 handicap) saw Paul Royer take the first low gross with a 159, followed closely by Luc Tremblay with 160, while Sean Quinn’s 165 (147) earned him the first low net.
Tremblay, who managed to earn the second low gross in the First Flight despite closing out the last three holes of the tournament in the pouring rain, said it was a fun weekend on the links, even with its challenges.
“It was an awesome day,” said Tremblay, who added the rain had a big influence on the way the last three holes played out. “We just couldn’t quite get it finished (before the rain started).”
The Second Flight category (13 to 16 handicap) saw Gerry Sandboe and Christian Nypower tied at 179, forcing a count back, which left Saandboe with the first low gross. Karl Quinn shot a 183 (155) to earn the first low net in the Second Flight.
Ernie Lilje finished atop the Third Flight category (17-plus handicap) with a 191 (151) for the first low net, while the second low net went to Andre St. Arnault with 196 (152).
