Pontiacs need to see a win in Whitecourt to stay in playoffs

On Saturday evening at the R.J. Lalonde Arena, the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs played and lost their second playoff game against the Whitecourt Wolverines.

BONNYVILLE - On Saturday evening at the R.J. Lalonde Arena, the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs played their second playoff game against the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The Pontiacs had home ice advantage for the first two playoff games. Unfortunately, the home team came up short in both matches.

The team lost 4-1 on Friday night, and again fell to the Wolverines on Saturday, but in a much closer match. In the second game, the Pontiacs lost 5-3 to Whitecourt, with the final goal being scored in the last two seconds of the game on the Pontiacs' empty net.

In order for the Pontiacs to play at home again, they will need to win at least one of the two upcoming games in the Scott Safety Centre in Whitecourt scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

If the Bonnyville team is successful in swiping at least one win, they will return to the R.J. Lalonde on Friday, March. 11.
