The Pontiacs scored four powerplay goals in the second period, en route to a 5-1 trouncing of the Sherwood Park Crusaders Wednesday night at the R.J. Lalonde Arena. The hitting and trash talk between the two rivals went from the opening draw through to the final whistle. But it was Bonnyville doing all the scoring on the night, as Kevin Carthy, Ryan Kearns, Jackson Dudley, Blake Leask and Max Collins all scored for the Pontiacs in the win. "It was a big win tonight and we're going to have to carry this one forward into Friday," said Leask. Dudley added, "We know this team likes to run around, so we really have to be physical with them. We were tonight and we will be again Friday." Honey made 28 saves for his tenth victory on the season. Both Kearns and Leask added three assists in the win. The two teams will meet again, in the second game of the home-and-home series, Friday night in Sherwood Park. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
