St. Paul Athletic Association junior track and field finals were held at the St. Paul Regional High School track last Tuesday, featuring students in Grades 7 through 9 from across the county.
The day saw students compete in various track and field events, and Racette School took home the boys, girls and combined points banners. The Racette boys managed a total of 529 points, while the girls tallied 515 for a combined total of 1,044 points.
Glen Avon claimed second in both the boys and combined point scores and third in the girls point scoring, while École Mallaig School placed second in the girls point scoring and third in the boys and combined categories.
In terms of individual feats Mienna Starosielski of École Mallaig School set a new record in the girls under 14 800m run with a time of 2:39.9, besting the previous record by 1.6 seconds.
