The St. Paul Canadiens made it through the first round of playoffs with four straight wins, but are now down two games to the Vermilion Tigers in the second round.

ST. PAUL - It has been a tough start to the second round of playoffs for the St. Paul Canadiens.

After defeating the Onion Lake Border Chiefs in four straight games in the first round of North Eastern Alberta Jr. B Hockey League playoffs, the Canadiens have now lost two straight games in the second round.

The series started on March 1 in St. Paul, with a game that saw very little scoring for either side. It was not until the third period that the Tigers finally found the net for the only time all night, thanks to a goal by Ryan Nelson.

The Canadiens would remain off the scoreboard and lose the match 1-0.

The Tigers came back to St. Paul for Game 2 on Sunday. The Tigers scored in the first period, with the Canadiens answering back with a goal by Kayden Morrison. The Tigers regained the lead before the end of the first period.

In the second, Vermilion and St. Paul both scored twice, and the Tigers held on to the lead, securing the win in the third period with one more goal, and a final score of 5-3.

The Canadiens will head to Vermilion for games on Tuesday and Thursday this week. If Game 5 is required, it will take place in St. Paul on Saturday night.
