The explosive offence of the Bonnyville Bandits was unmatched throughout the season, as the team blew out opponent after opponent en route to a provincial championship.

The Bandits bantam football team captured the Tier III provincial championship with a decisive 75-35 demolition of the Cardston Cougars.

Their victory on Walsh Field in Bonnyville was exactly one week after the Bonnyville Renegades brought home a provincial title.

“We have had three or four teams in my Bandits coaching career that have been stellar and very strong,” said Bandits coach Dan Jubinville. “This team just went above and beyond.”

The Bandits finished 10-0 putting up massive scores game after game and holding their opponents to an average of 13.8 points per game.

“We know right from spring league that we were going to be a strong team,” he said. “It was a hard task keeping the boys grounded because the competition level was good but our boys were a step above.”

He added, “There were a couple of teams in the league that were weaker, they were young, and you know what a coach can only dream to have 33 kids like we did this year.”

Bonnyville didn't take long to rev up their offence in the provincial championship scoring on the second play of the game.

Evan Fritzler took a hand off from quarterback Silas Fagnan and marched 70-yards down field for the score.

Less than two minutes later Fritzler was at it again, rumbling 41-yards for another touchdown.

The Bandits offence never slowed, not even when Fagnan was ejected from the game early in the third quarter after a controversial hit.

Bonnyville's offence kept its foot on the gas and throttled Cardston 75-35 in the biggest game of the year.

The bantam team will have a new look in 2016 as long time coach Dan Jubinville will be making the jump up to high school football to serve as a coach with the Voyageurs.
