The St. Paul & District Arts Foundation is hoping to bring physical activity and art together in a unique 5km walk or run that will see participants painted like a rainbow by the time they reach the finish line.

The Colour Me ART walk/run is set to take place on June 3, in St. Paul. While the early registration deadline was last week, the event is still open to others who are interested in taking part.

Money raised through the walk/run goes to the Maggie Porozni Foundation for th Arts building, which is where the St. Paul & District Arts Foundation offers a variety of artistic programming in downtown St. Paul.

The foundation strives to put on fundraising events where the majority of the dolalrs stay in the community. The Colour Me ART walk/run is aimed at getting families involved, and focuses on community spirit, according to information from the foundation.

Contest will take place on the day of the event, with prizes being handed out for craziest dressed participants, largest team, and first team with runners in each category across the finish line.

Another added benefit to registering for the Colour Me ART event is that the foundation will be planting five trees for each participant.

Donation sheets will be accepted in lieu of entry fees equal to or greater than the cost of the entry fee. Those who would like to accept pledges and collect donations must register with the foundation.

For those who want to pay the registration fee instead, fees are: $14 for those 10 and under, $24 for those between the ages of 11 and 15, and $40 for those 16 years old and up. Registration can be done online.

A discount is also available for people who register as a team of at least four people.
