The first of a two-game home stand against the SAIT Trojans resulted in a 3-0 loss for the Portage Voyageurs Friday night.  The Trojans scored one goal in each period — the third into an empty net in the closing seconds as Portage pulled their goalie for an extra attacker — to blank the Portage squad.

Portage goalie Taryn Kotchorek was busy on the night facing 39 shots.

The win for SAIT keeps them in third place in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Association. The loss is the seventh consecutive for Portage who have yet to find the win column in regular season play.

The re-match is back on the Bold Center ice Saturday. The puck drops at 1 p.m.
