OTTAWA — MPs have voted in favour of the first part of the Liberal government's Bill C-5, known as the one Canadian economy act, which aims to tackle internal trade barriers.

A second vote is set to happen shortly on the remainder of the bill, which would grant the government sweeping powers to approve major projects.

More coming.
