Blue Bombers agree to terms with Pat Neufeld

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with Canadian lineman Pat Neufeld on Thursday.

The six-foot-six, 307-pound Regina native returns for his ninth season in Winnipeg and 12th in the CFL. Neufeld was named both a West Division and CFL all-star in each of the last two seasons.

Neufeld was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2010 CFL draft by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was traded to Winnipeg in 2013 for defensive lineman Alex Hall and a 2014 second-round pick.

Neufeld has appeared in 99 career regular-season games with Winnipeg and 136 in the CFL. Last year he received the Cal Murphy Heart of a Legend Award presented to the player who has shown ‘outstanding sportsmanship and dedication to the Canadian Football League and the community.’


Ticats re-sign American linebacker Kyle Wilson to two-year deal

HAMILTON -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed American linebacker Kyle Wilson to a two-year contract Thursday.

Wilson, 27, appeared in 17 regular-season games and one playoff contest this season, including 10 as a starter. The six-foot, 229-pound American had 45 total tackles (42 defensive tackles), five tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one pass knockdown.
